Monochromatic Abstract Painting- 4th/5th Grade

Students drew on white paper creating an interesting abstract design.  Next, they picked a single color to paint with.  They were given that one color, along with black and white. They mixed values.

After a mixing lesson, and some time, the students created these beautiful works of art!

Penguins-Clay- 3rd Grade

Students constructed clay penguins using self drying clay.  Class one was dedicated to the creating of the penguins.  On the second day of class, we painted the penguins, using tempra paints.  The penguins were sprayed with a clear coat, giving them a glossy finish.

Penguin Drawings- 3rd, 4th, 5th Grade

Students looked at many visuals, read about various penguins and their habitats, then drew.  The pictures were drawn first, traced with marker, them colored.  Most students were sucessful and the work looks great!
